our mission

to know God and to make him known

God created us for the purpose of relationship--both with himself and with one another.  Restoration Church is therefore committed to helping people discover and grow in their relationship with God and empowering people to help their circles of influence do the same.

"This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."  John 17:3

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."  Matthew 28:19-20

Core Beliefs

You will find that our doctrinal statements are purposefully generic.  They get the basic point across regarding what we believe but you'll notice that we don't have publicized, church affirmed stances on many points (creation and the last things, for example).  This is not because we don't have convictions or that our pastors and elders don't hold particular viewpoints but rather because these are not hills we are willing to die on.  We love the diversity, under the authority of Jesus Christ, of various theological viewpoints and we recognize that we can come together in worship and community even if we disagree on various theological issues.  The cores must be the cores and we will not waver on them (the universality of human sinfulness; Jesus Christ being God incarnate; His life lived free from sin; His bodily resurrection from the dead, for example) but the periphery is up for conversation--and we love these conversations at Restoration Church.

we are missional

By continuing what Jesus started in extending grace, mercy, and justice to our neighbors. This is why we work hard to serve our community locally, regionally and globally. We believe that no matter where you are at in your faith journey, you have a bridge into your community and context of influence.

we are transformational

By assisting and challenging one another to become more like Christ. The pursuit of God is a life-long process, which we strive for through practicing spiritual discipline, living in community, creatively teaching the Bible, and encouraging one another along the way. This is both an individual and corporate task and so we've created environments and opportunities for transformation to grow and become more like Jesus.

we are relational

By inviting everyone to participate in a grace-based community that is safe for all to ask questions and to pursue God without fear of embarrassment, rejection, or shame. We try to see and love people as Jesus did. We were created to live in community with one another, which is why we provide diverse opportunities for connection, and environments in which to facilitate relationships with God and others.

we are generous

By aligning our resources with the purpose of God. Generosity, then, isn't solely about money. Your life has been entrusted to you in order to manage. Generosity includes the use of your energy, time, talents and yes, finances, to bless, benefit and lift those who've been entrusted to you. As we have been given, we are called to give away.
